Directive 2006/42/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council was adopted in the context of the establishment of the internal market in order to harmonise health and safety requirements for machinery in all Member States and to eliminate barriers to trade in machinery between Member States.

The Official Journal of the European Union allows you to view the harmonized standards for machinery drawn up in support of Directive 2006/42/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council. These standards are not mandatory, but if they are used, the latest versions must be used.
